U 11's v Neyland 24th November 2019

Rugby like life can teach you some harsh lessons. On Sunday we lost a game we were never in and have plenty to work on but can take some positives away from the display. Morgan proved what can be possible when carrying the ball straight and aggressively making lots of metres whilst crashing through tackles. Ewan's was a revelation in both attack and defence going so close to getting a try and bravely tackling everything that came his way. Trystan O put his body on the line time and again to disrupt the Neyland attack in the tackle and when competing at rucks. Tristan G carried the ball aggressively and looked like a seasoned experienced player who has learned so much in such a shirt space of time. George didnt get much ball in the first half but during the second half was able to show his electric running skills on a few occasions when skipping past defenders whenever he got the ball. Poppy continues to show what a competitor she is and won yet another strike against the head in the scrums. Poppy came off injured but as soon as the next scrum was awarded she sprinted past me back on the field to win the ball back which we then went on to score from. Mari gave every ounce of energy she had in running and covering the field in a display showing her incredible fitness levels and hunger to compete for her team. Austin had several strong efforts carrying the ball and showed an unbelievavble bravery in throwing himself into much bigger players to halt them in the tackle. Iestyn had a fantastic game at 10 setting up all 3 tries and him Manny and Harry worked superbly as a backline showing what they're capable of with go forward ball. Harry also had to go off injured as did Iestyn with both bravely returning to the field. Luffy scored a hatrick showing his predatory abilities and amazing finishing prowess. 3 tries from 4 touches of the ball is not a bad return. My player of the match is shared between Iestyn and Luffy who both had excellent games particularly in attack.
