Youth struggle at Haverfordwest 18th Oct 2024.

Match report
Last night was another tough game for wasps under the lights at Haverfordwest. Once again our main struggle as a team was discipline with too many penalties being given away at the start of the the game which instantly put us on the back foot, however that did not prevent the wasps from putting a solid defensive shift in the first half of the game only conceding 2 tries  against a strong Haverfordwest side.
However in second half we continued to give away unnecessary penalties which allowed Haverfordwest to find gaps in our defence which caused us to concede many tries in the second half. Towards the end of the game we also found ourselves conceding tries due to missed tackles which could be down to fatigue that was beginning to set in from a physical game. On the other hand there are positives to take away from this game as once again the wasps continued to play with grit and determination and didn’t allow the scoreline to drop our heads, as we continued to push as a team until the final whistle blew with the final score being 52-0.
Although this was a disappointing performance for us, there were points in the game where our attack was looking dangerous as we were beginning to be able to string phases of play together without losing the ball, which is a significant improvement to what we saw against Crymych at home last week, and shows the potential that we have as a team.
In order to improve we need to continue to have good turnouts at training like we have been as the improvements we have been making in training are beginning to show on the pitch.
Match report by Seth Hughes.
I nominate George Nichols to do the next one.
