U9's v Pembroke 14th. Jan 2024

Our Wasps made the trip over the Cleddau today to a very cold and misty Pembroke.

The plan was to keep up with our solid defence but unfortunately this wasn’t to be in the first half. We did have a few of the boys (especially Stef Hughes) who coaches and I’m sure spectators alike showed how gutsy he is along with Alfie Griff who is improving week after week. Pembroke started off well with some good runs and solid hits putting our Wasps on the back foot, Their tries kept on coming and I thought it was going to be a very difficult day.
However, through the mist there was a ray of light coming through and our passing started to improve and tackles getting better. Some good tries were scored with both Tom (1) and Jackson (2)
First Half Pembroke 7 Wasps 3)
The half time team talk taken by Geth and Nick definitely helped and our young 🐝 seemed a lot more focused. Some great runs and big hits defensively gave us that much needed lift
Another try for Jacks, two more for Tom and one for Odie got us right back into contention.
We showed great team spirit and determination to end up only losing 9 7.
Our MOM today was Steff which was thoroughly deserved. His tackle technique is first class and awareness second to none.
Thanks once again to our spectators who as always give our team that much needed lift, It’s a pleasure to be involved with you all. Enjoy your day and we go again Wednesday.
Team today was:
