Youth v Narberth 6th Apr 2024.

Llangwm welcomed physical Narbeth team to Pill Parks yesterday, with all the boys ready to go after a strong game away in Fishgaurd last week we hoped to add another win this weekend but it didn’t pan out like that with mistakes from the off we found ourselves 5-0 down very soon after kick off with good wing play from Narbeth. And that was the story for the next 20 or so minutes with Narbeth applying heavy pressure and our heads dropping which lead us to drop down to 29-0. We then started to play better towards the end of the first half stringing phases together and testing the Narbeth defence until off a tap and go penalty was crashed over the line by Kieran Sinclair and converted by Liam Miller to end the half 29-7. After halftime we came out with more confidence wanting to bring a game to the Otters in the second half. We showed promise early on but Narbeth ultimately got the first try of the half then we replied with a try of our own coming from James Hamilton when Narbeth made a mistake trying to play out the back which James capitalised on with a tantalising interception running from 50 metres out to dot it under the posts which Liam then converted leaving the score 34-14. We then had a couple of nice strung together phases in their 22 which led to a Alfie Kehoe try which led to a difficult conversion which Liam couldn’t convert on. We battled hard towards the end but our efforts didn’t prove to well as Narbeth got a couple points towards the end of the game which led to a score line of 41-19 in Narbeth’s favour.
The boys battled through well through many injuries doing well to play on with a big shout out to Liam Miller who played well especially defensively after he stopped many try opportunities for Narbeth.
Match report written by Joe Johns and I nominate Sonny for the next one
